What is Strategic Planning?

Strategic planning is the process for formulating strategy with the intent to clarify an organization's purpose, focus and priorities which translate to the outcomes, goals, resources and timelines in tactical planning.

Why do you need strategic planning?
Your resources are limited and you need all your organization's energy directed on what's most important and critical to achieving it's goals.  There are too many distractions in today's world to risk your organization getting distracted by urgent, unimportant matters.

Our Principles

Create strategies that will work in your culture. Because "culture eats strategy for breakfast", build your strategy from a candid assessment of the strengths and opportunities in your culture.

Engage your hidden talent.   Associates that interact with your customers and leadership teams on a day-to-day basis hold key insights into where value is created.

Make what is complex, simple.  Your strategic message must be just as relevant to executives as front-line associates.  Use a few brief statements and/or metaphors that convey intent, focus and priority.

Cascade strategic thinking.  Strategic thinking should be formulated at multiple levels.  Charge executives with being strategic thinkers for their domains and not just tactical planners.
